The University of Seville (Universidad de Sevilla) is located in Seville, Spain, and is the main public university in Andalusia. It was established more than five centuries ago, and is currently hosting over 70,000 students, 4,400 professors and 2,400 service and administrative staff. The main building of the university was built in the 18th century and is known as the "Old Tobacco Factory" (named after its original use). Other campuses and faculties are located throughout Seville, including the Health Science schools in La Macarena, the Business School in Nervión, the Engineering School and School of Communications in La Cartuja, and the Language Institute and Science Schools in Reina Mercedes.

Dr. Octavio Rivera is co-supervisor to 2 ESRs in CATCH.

He is a researcher and an associate professor full time at USE. He joined Universidad de Sevilla in 2002. Octavio received his B.S. from USE in Computer Science in 2004 and Ph. D. in Industrial Computer Science from Universidad de Sevilla in 2010. His research is focused on participatory health informatics aimed to co-design / co-create personalized technological health solutions for patients with chronic conditions. He has published over 40 papers in journals and international conferences. He also holds three Spanish inventions. He is a member of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and of the Sociedad Española de la Informática de la Salud (SEIS).

Taipei Medical University (TMU; 臺北醫學大學) is ranked as one of the World's Top 100 private medical universities according to the QS World University Rankings. TMU is composed of seven colleges including College of Medical Science and Technology. TMU research focuses on cancer, traumatic brain injury, regenerative medicine, reproductive medicine, biomedical informatics and translational medicine. TMU has three affiliated hospitals and one cancer center located within Taipei. All are Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospitals since 2010.

The International Center for Health Information Technology (ICHIT) is a leading center that have demonstrated the excellence in cutting-edge research in the utilization of ICT in the healthcare. Their focus is 4P medicine (Prediction, Prevention, Participation and Personalization). ICHIT works closely with teaching hospitals and practice translational medicine.

At ICHIT the focus is on clinical study design as well as functional analysis of the software, big data analytics, integration of heterogeneous e-Health and m-Health systems through a common open platform.

Dr.Shabbir Syed-Abdul is a leading researcher and a principal investigator at the International Center for Health Information Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. He is an educator for MOOCs on FutureLearn, one of his renowned course is on INTERNET OF THINGS FOR ACTIVE AGING. Shabbir’s major research interests are Long-term care with Wearable technologies, mHealth, Big data analysis and visualisation, Artificial Intelligence, Personal Health Records, Social Network in healthcare and Hospital Information System. He wants to empower care providers and improve patient engagement. He feels one of the ways to achieve it is to focus on the management and flow of the health/medical information among health care providers and seekers. Dr. Shabbir have an excellent track record of accomplishing projects and publishing above 50 articles in the SCI prestigious journals including The Lancet, BMJ, JAMIA, Journal of Medical Internet Research, Burns, PlosOne and Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine.
