Brian Caulfield
Professor
Brian is the primary coordinator of the CATCH programme and leads two work packages – Technology Interventions and Management. He is the main academic supervisor for three of the ESRs.
Brian’s early research career focussed on laboratory-based evaluation of human performance in health and sport, with a particular emphasis on understanding the neurophysiological contributions to repeated musculoskeletal injuries in sport. He has shifted his research focus from laboratory-based analysis towards the field, home and community where contextual relevance is significantly enhanced. This move has been enabled through development of cross cutting collaborations with researchers in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering across the globe, with a view to explore potential for development and validation of wearable and mobile sensing measurement/intervention applications that open up a new vista for human performance evaluation and enhancement across the spectrum from elite sport to chronic disease and ageing.
He is Dean of Physiotherapy at UCD, Director of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics and lead Principal Investigator with Ireland’s Connected Health Technology Centre, ARCH.
Nicola Mountford
Nicola is primarily involved in Work Package 4, Management of the Programme, and also serves on the CATCH Dissemination Committee.
Nicola is the non-academic Director of UCD’s connected health programme. She focuses on developing external and internal links with academics, industry, clinicians and policy makers. She builds consortia around project concepts, works to attain get these funded and off the ground. She co-wrote and managed the proposal process for Ireland’s connected health technology centre (www.arch.ie), the European Network for the Joint Evaluation of Connected Health Technologies (www.enject.eu), the CHESS programme (www.chessitn.eu) and CATCH.
Her personal research interest centres on health technology markets and the role of the public actor and their intermediary on the construction and shaping of these markets. She believes that health budgets can deliver more – in terms of both health-care delivery and economic development – when health technology markets operate efficiently.
David Coyle
Dr
David is the main supervisor of an Early Stage Researcher who will focus on investigating strategies for using digital health to reinforce and improve psycho-oncology interventions. He is also the second supervisor of one ESR.
David is a Lecturer in Computer Science with the School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin. His research and teaching focuses on Human Computer Interaction, with a specific gaze on healthcare technologies and the application of cognitive neuroscience in system design and understanding. He has previously worked as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer with the Bristol Interaction and Graphics group at the University of Bristol. David also has experience as a Marie Curie post-doctoral researcher, and a post-doctoral researcher at Trinity College Dublin. In these roles, his research focused on people's experiences of agency while interacting with intelligent computer interfaces and on-body technologies, and the design of technology to support mental health interventions. From this research he was involved in the development of a software platform called SilverCloud. IP from the SilverCloud system provided the basis for a spin out company called SilverCloud Health Ltd which was named "Most Investable Business in Ireland" at the Irish Software Association Software Investment Forum.
Maria Begoña García-Zapirain Soto

Begoña is the academic supervisor for one Early Stage Researcher (Ornela Bardhi) and co-leads the Training work package with Roberto Nuño.
PhD. Begoña García-Zapirain Soto (1970, San Sebastian, Spain) was graduated in Telecommunications Engineering and specialized in Telematics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU, Spain). After 2 years working for ZIV Company, in 1997 she joined the Engineering Faculty at the University of Deusto as a lecturer in signal theory and electronics, where she led the Telecommunications Department from 2002 to 2008.
In 2004 she defended her PhD dissertation, with "Summa Cum Laude" distinction, in the pathological speech digital processing field. In 2011 she obtained an Executive MBA at the University of the Basque Country (Spain), with best student award, and in 2012 she graduated in the Advanced Program in Health Management at Deusto Business School, Deusto University (Spain). In 2001, she created the Advanced Signal Processing (PAS) research group, also known as eVida (Life), recognized by the Basque Government, focusing in ICTs for health and wellbeing. In her role as principal investigator of Life group, she has participated in more than 92 national and international research projects, leading more than 40 of them as main researcher and with more than 40 ISI indexed publications. She has had several awards among which we can highlight: Mujer y Tecnología Award - Fundacion Orange 2016. Accesit: DonaTIC Award 12x12 2015. Accesit: Ada Byron Award to the Technologist Woman 2015. Ans she with her group were Accésit Research Award UD-Grupo Santander 2015. Finalist in "Social Innovation in Ageing - The European Award 2014" . Research Award: UD-Banco Santander. 2007. Elena Urizar Mayora
Project Manager
Elena Urizar (Bilbao, 1984) is a Project Manager at European and International level in the higher education sector, currently active in the health sector. She has prior working experience with stakeholders from business, government, academia and civil society. She is Fluent in English, French and Spanish.
She holds a Master’s degree in Exterior Commerce and International Commerce and Trade (Spanish National Center for foreign Exports and Investments, 2008) and a degree in Business Administration (Universidad de Navarra, 2006).
With more than 10 years of professional experience, currently she is working as project manager at Deusto Business School Health, coordinating R&D projects, European proposals and executive education programs.
She will be in charge of coordinating the administrative and financial participation of Deusto in CATCH project. Previously, she was responsible for project management in the Academy for Business in Society (Brussels). An international network of Academia and Corporations active in the field of corporate responsibility and sustainability issues.
She has volunteered and cooperated with different third sector organisations in Europe and Africa.
Roberto Nuño Solinís

Roberto co-supervises one Early Stage Researcher.
Roberto holds a degree in Health Economics, from the University of Tromsø (Norway) and is a graduate in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Deusto. He has broad experience in the management of health care institutions and consultancy for organisations such as the WHO, UNDP, the World Bank, PAHO, DFID, IDB. Roberto was also the Director of the Basque Institute for Health Care Innovation (2009-2015).
Kristin B Munksgaard
Professor WSR, Development Manager, PhD
Kristin is co-supervisor to one ESR and the SDU scientist-in-charge in CATCH. She is also a member of the Training Committee.
Kristin holds a PhD in business administration and is Associate Professor in Innovation and Business Marketing and Development Manager at interAct at the Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management, SDU, Kolding. Her research and teaching relate to business interaction and innovation management. Particularly, Kristin's research focuses on inter-organisational relationships and networks, the organising of collaborative product development activities, supplier driven innovation, public-private innovation, as well as co-creation and strategising in relationships and networks. Since 2009 she has been co-developer and part of faculty at the Food Architect Program (reaching 70+ firms). Since 2014 Kristin heads the ongoing teaching project "Camp GetCloser" which is a week- long camp-event involving 600 student and 15+ firms. As a leader of the research and development project "Design2Nework" Kristin's and colleagues' research has reached 100+ firms and 20+ consultants.

Majbritt Rostgaard Evald
Associate Professor, PhD
Majbritt is the main academic supervisor for one CATCH ESR and co-supervisor to an additional CATCH ESR.
Majbritt holds a PhD in Intrapreneurship and Organisation and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management at University of Southern Denmark (SDU). She is doing research in the areas of intrapreneurship, (open) innovation and (collaborate) entrepreneurship such as Public Private Innovation (PPI). Majbritt has several international publications in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation in journals such as: Journal of Business Venturing and Industrial Marketing Management. Also, she has written and co-edited several books. Recently she has co-edited an English textbook in entrepreneurship, published at Edward Elgar 2017. Moreover, she is Principal Investigator of several PPI research projects and Project Coordinator for a cross-department research network on Welfare Innovation at the Faculty of Business and Social Science at SDU.
Ann Højbjerg Clarke
Associate Professor, PhD
Ann is the main academic supervisor for one of the CATCH ESRs.
Ann is Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management at SDU. She holds a PhD in Business to business marketing and innovation. She has published in international journals such as Industrial Marketing Management, European Management Journal, European Journal of Marketing and Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing. Her research concerns Business to business marketing: segmentation, relationships, user driven innovation, business models. Innovation: spin-off, innovation in networks, corporate venturing, open innovation, product platforms.
